The small-form-factor tablet market has felt neglected for years, but a major player is about to shake things up. OnePlus will reportedly launch a compact flagship tablet that will have an OLED display on global markets.
OnePlus Compact OLED tablet with Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 power leaks
OnePlus recently introduced larger options such as the OnePlus Pad 4 and the budget-friendly Pad Go 2 (Review). However, both of those devices rely on standard IPS LCD panels. The company has been dropping community teasers hinting at an “OLED or Nothing” viewing experience, and industry insiders have now filled in the blanks.
According to tipster Abhishek Yadav, the upcoming tablet features an ultra-thin 8.8-inch compact OLED screen. This smaller footprint makes it a direct competitor to popular devices like Apple’s iPad Mini. Despite its slim 5.5 mm profile, the hardware is expected to pack a massive 8,000mAh battery with 67W fast charging. It could also run on Qualcomm’s powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor. Users can also expect LPDDR5X RAM & UFS 4.1 storage for the best possible performance.
A potentially rebranded OPPO Pad Mini for global markets
The device will bear the classic OnePlus branding globally. However, everything indicates that this tablet is actually a rebranded version of the OPPO Pad Mini that recently debuted in China. Both devices share identical internal hardware, from the 8.8-inch display to the flagship processor. The true differences come down to aesthetics and regional software tuning. The Chinese variant runs ColorOS, while the global edition will launch with OxygenOS.
Historically, this strategy has worked incredibly well for the firm. The original OnePlus Pad was a twin to the Chinese OPPO Pad 3, allowing the company to efficiently deploy premium tech to international buyers.
To launch sometime in the first half of 2026
Official retail pricing has not been confirmed. However, testing phases are well underway, and market indicators point to an official global unveiling within the first half of 2026.
