OPPO and OnePlus allegedly want to offer their users a lot more customization. According to a new report, OPPO is working on something similar to Good Lock on Samsung’s One UI. In other words, an app that would allow for deep ColorOS customization.
OnePlus and OPPO could offer deep customization to its users, similar to what Samsung’s Good Lock offers
Based on a report that surfaced on X, by Ashok Mor, it’s happening. He says that he received the information from beta testers, and that the feature could arrive with ColorOS 17 / OxygenOS 17 on both OPPO and OnePlus phones.
Do take the information with a grain of salt, though. It doesn’t come from one of our usual sources for such news, so we’ll need more weight to it before we start to properly believe it. If true, however, this could be a huge deal for OPPO and OnePlus.
Good Lock is an immensely powerful tool for One UI users. It allows for truly deep customization of the OS, and that’s what power users enjoy quite a bit. OPPO seemingly realized that, finally. ColorOS does offer decent customization, but nowhere near Good Lock.
Good Lock not only allows you to tweak what the phone looks like, but also how it operates. Samsung split things into visual customization and productivity customization, and there are a ton of options on both sides.
You can essentially create custom themes, deeply customize the lock screen and AOD, but also customize one-hand operation, the status bar, completely change the Quick Settings panel, and so much more.
Let’s hope it won’t be basic… if true
If this report is true, we wonder how good OPPO’s tool will be. Will it offer a similar level of customization, or will OPPO be more modest? We’re still not sure what it will be called, but the tipster has a bunch of guesses, and a Customization Suite is one of them.
