We have some bad news regarding OnePlus’ new compact flagship smartphone. Yogesh Brar, a tipster, just shared some information about it, and it’s not exactly good.
OnePlus’ upcoming compact flagship won’t get a global variant
The tipster said that the device is not launching, though we believe he was referring to India. The OnePlus 13s was launched in India, following its China debut under a different name (OnePlus 13T).
That was the only market outside of China where the phone launched. So that was the only global variant of the device, essentially. Well, the same will not happen with its successor, which is coming to China only this time around, it would seem.
That’s a shame, as the OnePlus 13s was a truly compelling smartphone and it was a great option for users who wanted a more compact device and yet for it to be truly powerful. We were hoping its successor would arrive to more global markets, but we were not optimistic.
Reports surrounding OnePlus’ presence in the US and Europe haven’t exactly been positive in general, so expecting an expansion of a smartphone lineup that was not there to begin with was… unrealistic.
The tipster also mentioned the OnePlus 16
In any case, the tipster also touched on the topic of the OnePlus 16. He said that many people have been asking him about the OnePlus 16’s availability in India, and he said that nothing has been finalized as of now.
We are still hoping to see the OnePlus 16 in Europe, North America, and India, but we’re not sure if that will happen. OnePlus has been trimming down its staff in the US and Europe, and the availability of its future (flagship) devices is uncertain at this point. Especially in North America and Europe.
