The OnePlus 16 is coming later this year, even though it won’t launch in the US or Europe. As many of you know by now, OnePlus is leaving those two markets, but it will still get a global unit, kind of.
The phone is expected to launch in India, hence the global model. It will, of course, make its way to China too. In any case, some new information just surfaced regarding the OnePlus 16’s battery and charging.
The OnePlus 16 will pack a huge 9,000mAh battery pack
According to OnePlus Club, the phone will feature a 9,000mAh battery. That is a huge battery pack, needless to say, and yes, it will be a silicon-carbon battery; otherwise, the phone would be very thick.
Furthermore, the source claims that the device will end up supporting 100W wired and 50W wireless charging, just like its predecessor. We’re still not sure whether magnets will be embedded, but that’s unlikely.
The OnePlus 16 is also expected to utilize the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro processor, which is expected to arrive later this year. OnePlus has a long-standing commitment to Qualcomm’s flagship chips, so that’ll likely stay the same.
The phone’s design is still a mystery
The phone’s design is still a complete mystery, while it will stay a large-format foldable. You can expect a flat display, along with an aluminum frame and a glass backplate.
Android 17 is expected out of the box, along with OnePlus’ ColorOS 17 skin on top of it. The device will also have great ingress protection, stereo speakers, and likely arrive in several color options.
We’re still not sure when exactly it will launch, but its predecessor arrived in October. Well, at the very end of October. So it’s possible this one will too, or in November at the latest. There’s still no info regarding that.
