Samsung‘s software division continues to work on multiple fronts. On one hand, everything points to the stable rollout of One UI 8.5 starting very soon. Then there’s the development of One UI 9, the company’s next major software release. That said, instead of introducing flashy, futuristic features, hints suggest the update will focus on refinement. One of the aspects Samsung is focusing on for the One UI 9 update is Now Brief, a feature that is expected to receive some welcome Weather-related upgrades.
The latest buzz, shared by tipster Tarun Vats, suggests that the “Weather” section within the Now Brief feed is getting a significant expansion. Previous versions focused almost exclusively on what was happening right at that second. However, the upcoming one looks like it will finally let you plan your week without having to open a separate app.
One UI 9: Weather on Now Brief
In the current versions of One UI, the weather card in Now Brief is a bit of a minimalist affair. It tells you the temperature and maybe if it’s sunny, but for anything more detailed, you usually have to tap through to the full Weather app. One UI 9 reportedly changes this by embedding a full weekly forecast directly into the feed.
The new layout (via SammyFans) apparently packs temperatures, rain probability, and clear visual icons into a single, scan-friendly card. It’s designed for that quick moment when you’re drinking your morning coffee and just need to know if you’ll need an umbrella on Thursday or if the weekend looks good for a hike. It’s practical, fast, and stays out of your way.

Evolution over revolution
If we look back at how this feature has evolved, Samsung has been playing the long game. One UI 7 introduced the “right now” concept, and One UI 8 added a bit more context, but they always felt like teasers for the full app. By the time we hit One UI 9, it seems Samsung has realized that users want information, not extra steps.
If these leaks hold true, Galaxy users can look forward to a much smoother morning routine when One UI 9 officially drops. It’s a quiet refinement, but for anyone who checks the weather ten times a week, it’s a very welcome one.
