The proper rollout of One UI 9 to the Samsung Galaxy S26 series in the US has started. As a reminder, the original rollout started about a week ago, but only for T-Mobile users. It seems like it’s now rolling out widely in the US.
One UI 9 is now hitting more Galaxy S26 series devices in the US
The company’s firmware pages confirmed that the update is rolling out on T-Mobile, Metro by T-Mobile, and US Cellular. More phones should be getting it anytime now, on other carriers and unlocked devices.
Do note that this update brings with it a security patch for September 2026. Samsung did confirm some features that are coming to the phones with this update.
The update brings a number of new features and upgrades
My FanCam is an excellent example. This feature can automatically follow a person you select while recording a video, and also reframe the footage around them. It’s one of the more useful camera features.
Now Nudge is another big inclusion. It can surface contextual suggestions inside notifications and elsewhere in One UI. That includes options to save addresses to Google Maps or enter reservation details.
Samsung’s Interpreter also gets a conversation view. It allows you to scroll back through previous translations while continuing to talk with it.
Privacy is also getting a boost
The privacy aspect is also getting a boost. A new indicator will now appear whenever an app accesses your location, while Privacy Alerts use on-device AI to flag potentially unnecessary access to personal information.
Security warnings will also pop up through Now Brief when One UI detects malware, apps from unknown sources, or any type of questionable permission.
Samsung Health is getting some new features, and the same goes for Bixby
Samsung Health is getting a boost as well. It is getting redesigned charts, customizable cards, cardio load tracking, and more. Bixby can now activate when you raise the phone towards your mouth.
Quick Toggles are getting a slight redesign, and they’re now more customizable than ever. And more.
