The Samsung Galaxy A27 is the latest smartphone from the company to start getting the Android 17-based One UI 9 update. The rollout has started in the company’s homeland, South Korea.
One UI 9.0 is now rolling out to the Samsung Galaxy A27
This update is expected to spread to other markets in the coming days, so you’ll need to be patient. Samsung usually does that quickly, but just keep in mind that it’s a staged rollout, and that it may take some time for the update to reach you.
It’s also worth noting that, in South Korea, this phone is called the Galaxy Jump 5. It just has a different name; everything else is the same. Samsung usually has different names for low-end and mid-range phones in Korea.
Your phone will let you know once the update is ready to go. You can, however, check manually if you want. You can do that via Settings -> Software update -> Download and install.
This update follows quite a few previous ones. One UI 9 already landed on the Galaxy S26 series, Galaxy S25 series, Galaxy Z Fold 7, Galaxy Z Flip 7, and a bunch of other smartphones, both high-end and mid-range ones.
This update brings Android 17 to the table, along with a number of new features/improvements
This update does bring some new features to the table. It also brings Android 17, a new version of Android. You’ll be getting a more customizable Quick Panel following this update, so you can resize everything and rearrange it the way you want.
This update also brings improvements to Samsung Notes and some other apps from the company, not to mention new AI features. Gemini integration is now also deeper than ever before, and more.
It’s not a huge revamp of One UI or anything like that, but some useful features are included here, as expected. The next big(ger) update will arrive early next year in the form of One UI 9.5.
