The General Shale brick plant at 3003 S. Platte River Drive in Denver may transform into a four-building warehouse distribution campus. The 50.5-acre industrial site northwest may turn into 542,784 square feet of warehousing and office space.
The Denver Business Journal reports that the property has been a brick plant for decades and was formerly owned by Robinson Brick Co., founded in 1880 in Denver.
It’s not clear what the brick company’s role will be going forward. Ryan Cos. submitted the documents to the city. Ryan Cos. develops, designs, builds and manages properties.
The redevelopment is intended to provide flexible, modern industrial space capable of accommodating a range of office/warehouse, distribution, logistics, and light industrial uses.
Development of the General Share brick plant would occur in two phases, with two warehouses totaling about 94,000 square feet each being built in phase one. Phase two would include one building proposed at 206,136 square feet and another at 138,934 square feet.
