NVIDIA has announced some new updates to DLSS 5, its latest version of the AI-powered software tool that upscales graphics for PC games and helps boost frame rates. DLSS 5 has been under fire from gamers since it was announced over its controversial results, with many claiming it’s adding a layer of “AI filters” on top of game graphics that were already good looking.
DLSS 5 was initially announced way back in March, specifically on March 17. It hasn’t been well-received by many gamers, with discourse on social media platforms like X and Reddit speaking overwhelmingly negative of the tech. Still, NVIDIA has forged ahead with the software rollout, and has now announced its latest infusion. In other words, the new games it’ll work with.

NVIDIA rolls out Dlss 5 support to Hogwarts Legacy in new update
Among other things with the feature, NVIDIA is confirming today that it’s brining DLSS 5 support to Hogwarts Legacy, and it’ll be arriving on November 5. Outside of this new game support, the latest DLSS 5 update reportedly adds more boosts to performance. Specifically, it’s said to use up about 20% less VRAM of the GPU inside your PC.
According to NVIDIA, the new DLSS 5 model is twice as fast as the previous one. The company says this new model will be rolling out support for games like NBA 2K27 on October 16. This will boost the frame rates in the game by up to 40%, NVIDIA says, with these upgrades shipping by default for future games that will support DLSS 5. NVIDIA is also planning to add new upgrades with DLSS 5 to Where Winds Meet, the free to play action MMO. The company is also introducing a new performance mode for Frame Generation, which will come with a Preset C that will “replace the second AI model with a faster and lighter algorithm to boost frame rates for DLSS Frame Generation, Multi Frame Generation, and Dynamic Multi Frame Generation.”
