Nothing spin-off brand CMF has introduced its first open earbuds, the Clip Pro. The design is what sets them apart from your regular earbuds. They’re shaped almost like the letter C, allowing you to wrap them around your ear. While giving a comfortable grip, they’ll let you stay aware of the outside world. Also, the carry/charging case does more than just charge the earbuds.
CMF Clip Pro earbuds support LDAC audio and offer up to 32.5 hours of battery life
Unlike the traditional earbuds that seal off your ears, these rest outside the ears. This way, you can enjoy the music while also staying aware of the outside world. You don’t have to constantly remove the earbuds to listen to something. Another advantage of an open-earbud design is that your ears won’t start feeling sore after a while. They’re also quite light, weighing just 6.5 grams.
Instead of pressing on one spot, CMF’s three-point Clip Design spreads the weight across three different points, keeping the earbuds secure and comfortable. A “listening ball” directs sounds into your ear canal, while an elastic ribbon with a titanium wire core connects the two parts for a flexible, secure fit.
Charging case features a handy rotating dial
As for the tech specs, the CMF Clip Pro features a 10.8mm dual-magnet dynamic driver. The new Ultra Bass Technology boosts low-end frequencies while reducing distortion. The Clip Pro also supports LDAC, AAC, and SBC codecs and carries Hi-Res Audio certification. However, you don’t get Active Noise Cancellation (ANC). But there’s Sound Seal, which aims to reduce audio leakage. You can adjust it in the Nothing X app to choose whether it applies only to phone calls or to all your audio.
The earbuds feature a four-microphone system paired with a VPU to isolate your voice from background noise better. This should technically make conversations clearer even in a crowded environment. In terms of battery, CMF claims the Clip Pro can last up to ten hours on a single charge. The charging case extends total listening time to 32.5 hours. There’s also fast charging support, where a 10-minute charge offers four hours of playback.
They cost $99
Speaking of which, the charging case features a Smart Dial on the top. It’s a feature returning from CMF’s previous earbuds. This is a physical control that eliminates the need to rely on your phone or touch controls. Using the Smart Dial, users can control volume, playback, and calls without needing a phone. Other notable features include Bluetooth 5.4, dual-device connection, Google Fast Pair, Microsoft Swift Pair, Low Latency mode for gaming, and IP54 dust and water resistance.
Now for the price, the CMF Clip Pro will set you back by $99 in the US. They are available in Dark Grey, Light Grey, and Coral shades.
