Nothing likes to control the narrative around its product launches, but benchmark listings usually have a way of spoiling the surprise. Ahead of its official launch on July 7, the unannounced Nothing Phone 4b just made an appearance on Geekbench. The listing gives us a clear look at what the London-based tech brand is packing into its very first “b-series” smartphone.
According to the data pulled from the benchmarking platform, a device carrying the model number A009P managed a single-core score of 1,088 and a multi-core score of 3,155. The real story here is the silicon running the show. The entry confirms that Nothing is using Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 processor, paired with an Adreno 810 GPU. It also lists the phone with 8GB of RAM, and interestingly, it appears to be testing with Android 16 right out of the gate (via GSMArena).
Streamlining the lineup
This new device marks a pretty interesting shift in how the company structures its inventory. Co-founder Akis Evangelidis recently cleared up the corporate naming strategy. He basically said that numbers will define generations, while letters will sort out price points. By dropping the previously used “Lite” branding entirely, the brand is setting up the “a-series” as its premium mid-range tier. This leaves the brand-new “b-series” to handle the true budget market.
To give you a little context, the current Phone 4a runs a more powerful Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chip and landed with a price tag of Rs 31,999 in India earlier this spring. Rumors floating around the tech community suggest that the Phone 4b will likely sit about Rs 3,000 to Rs 5,000 lower than its sibling. It’s noteworthy that the Phone 4a never reached the US market, with Nothing betting everything on the Phone 4a Pro model instead.
While the internal specifications look perfectly capable for daily scrolling, the external hardware might turn some heads. Official design sketches and various teasers suggest that the Phone 4b will keep the company’s trademark transparent rear panel and minimalist LED light strips. However, leaks suggest it will feature a single rear camera. In a segment where almost every competitor throws in dual or triple lenses, relying on a single sensor is a bold choice that could divide budget buyers.

With the launch locked in for July 7, budget-conscious buyers won’t have to wait long to see the full package. Nothing is clearly betting that its sleek software experience and iconic see-through aesthetics can outshine raw spec sheets. However, with heavy-hitting budget devices from Motorola, iQOO, and Realme already dominating the entry-level space, the ultimate success of the Phone 4b will come down to how well it balances that unique design with real, everyday value.
