Google Cast is a pretty useful feature that lets you stream audio, pictures, and videos from supported apps on Android and iOS devices to a compatible display. However, it wasn’t available on Samsung smart TVs. That seems to be finally changing now. All Samsung TVs launched in 2026 will reportedly support Google Cast out of the box. Interestingly, this support is also extending to older models as well.
Samsung is adding Google Cast support to its TVs
First spotted by folks over at SamMobile, Samsung’s US website lists Google Cast support in the specifications sections for its new 2026 models, including Crystal UHD, Mini-LED, and Neo QLED models. This comes as Google has been working to expand the functionality. To recall, LG TVs reportedly added Google Cast support earlier this year.Â
Samsung often adds new features to its latest models. However, this one isn’t exclusive to them. The South Korean giant is reportedly bringing this feature to some of its older TVs as well, which is great from a user’s point of view.
Not just the new ones
Samsung recently started rolling out a major One UI Tizen update for some of its older TVs launched in 2023. It is now extending this to some of its 2024 models. One of the additions in this is Google Cast. An owner of a Samsung S90D OLED TV, on Reddit, notes that the latest update adds support for Google Cast. Samsung even mentions the support in the startup changelog.Â
Interestingly, some Samsung TV owners also claim that their TVs have had Google Cast support for a few months now. It seems the company has been silently rolling out the support behind the scenes. Either way, with this, Samsung TV owners can now finally stream content, like images, audio, and video, from an Android device to compatible Samsung TVs.
