Samsung’s flagship devices, like the Galaxy S25 Ultra, are great in many ways. However, there are also some areas that could be improved. One of the areas where fans have been requesting an upgrade for years is fast charging. Other Android brands offer support for much higher power levels than the South Korean giant. That said, reports about the Galaxy S26 Ultra have suggested a finally improved 60W fast charging capability, and a new Samsung charger seems to confirm this.
Samsung has quietly introduced a new 60W Power Adapter (model EP-T6010). Of course, the brand has not officially announced which device needs this charger. However, the timing and technical specifications strongly suggest it is laying the groundwork for its upcoming “Ultra” mobile device.
Samsung lists 60W charger on its website, looking forward to the Galaxy S26 Ultra
Galaxy S Ultra fans have been stuck with 45W charging for years. So, the potential 60W fast charging support for the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra, quietly “confirmed” by this charger, is great news. The device could debut with a new charging standard, tentatively dubbed Samsung’s Super Fast Charging 3.0. This new development comes shortly after a leak about an also improved wireless charging speed.
The new adapter, spotted by Abhishek Yadav, represents a significant technical step forward. It delivers up to 60W of power through a single USB-C port. Plus, it supports the advanced USB PD 3.1 PPS (Programmable Power Supply) standard.
This is a key upgrade from the older 45W chargers. The new PD 3.1 standard allows the charger to adjust voltage and current dynamically (up to 20V at 3A), which translates to highly efficient, high-speed power delivery. In a practical win for users, this smart system can deliver the full fast-charging benefits without requiring the expensive, specialized 5A cables that previous generations needed to hit top speeds. This makes high-speed charging more flexible and accessible. Needless to say, USB PD support means greater compatibility—even with devices from other brands.
Efficiency and future proofing
Beyond raw speed, Samsung’s new 60W charger includes Smart IC. This technology boosts energy efficiency by slashing the charger’s idle power consumption to a negligible 5mW. In other words, the adapter uses virtually no power when plugged into the wall but not actively charging a device.
Samsung has not yet revealed the price of this charger. Furthermore, the listing is currently only available on the company’s website for the Levant region. Hopefully, the company will reveal all the details about the power brick soon. For now, the silent reveal serves to practically confirm one of the most anticipated upgrades to Galaxy S Ultra phones.
