If you’re planning to grab Motorola’s first book-style foldable from your favorite retailer, here’s what you need to know about the Motorola Razr Fold 2026 on Amazon. Yes, it’s coming to Amazon. Yes, it’ll be unlocked. And yes, that’s actually the move I’d recommend for most people.
Pre-orders open May 14, with the phone officially shipping on May 21. Same dates as Motorola.com and Best Buy, so you’re not waiting longer just because you want to use your Prime account. The Razr Fold 2026 will be sold unlocked through Amazon, which means it’ll work on AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, and pretty much any major US carrier. This is good news because not every carrier will be selling the Razr Fold 2026, and none of them will have it on launch day.
Why Buying Unlocked on Amazon Makes Sense
I’m a big fan of buying phones unlocked, and the Razr Fold is no exception. You skip the carrier bloatware, you typically get faster software updates straight from Motorola, and you’re not locked into a 36-month installment plan. Plus, Amazon tends to run aggressive pricing once a phone has been on sale for a few weeks. In fact, we could even see a $200 gift card thrown in for pre-orders.
The price is $1,899, which is steep but actually $100 cheaper than the Galaxy Z Fold 7. You can finance it through Amazon if you’ve got a Prime card, or just pay it outright. For AT&T customers, Amazon is your best bet, since AT&T isn’t selling the phone directly.
As for what you’re getting for that $1,899? The Razr Fold packs a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, 16GB of RAM, 512GB of storage, and a massive 6,000mAh silicon-carbon battery with 80W TurboPower charging. The 8.1-inch inner display and 6.6-inch cover screen are both bigger than what Samsung and Google offer. There’s also a triple 50MP camera setup with a Sony LYTIA 828 main sensor that earned a DXOMARK Gold rating. Not bad for Motorola’s first crack at the form factor.
