Motorola is gearing up to refresh its popular G-series, and we now have a very clear idea of what to expect from the upcoming Moto G87. Thanks to high-quality renders shared by the well-known tipster Evan Blass, the design of this new mid-ranger is no longer a mystery. The images suggest that Motorola is refining its current aesthetic while introducing some sweet color choices.
Motorola’s upcoming Moto G87 surfaces in new detailed renders
The renders reveal a familiar silhouette. Motorola’s upcoming affordable phone features a flat display with rounded corners and a centered punch-hole cutout for the selfie camera. Official dimensions aren’t confirmed yet, but industry expectations point toward a 6.67-inch OLED panel. This is pretty similar to what we saw in previous generations.
One of the most noticeable features on the back of the device is the square-shaped camera module. This “camera island” sits in the top-left corner and is rumored to house a massive 200MP primary sensor. If true, it would represent a significant hardware push for the Moto G-series regarding photography.
Color seems to be a major selling point for this release. Motorola is continuing its collaboration with Pantone. For the Moto G87, the company would offer distinct shades like Overture Gray and Blue Atoll. Reports also mention several other nature-inspired options, including Arctic Seal, Black Olive, Nile, and Shaded Spruce.
Some leaked Moto G87 key specs and launch timeframe
According to leaks, the Moto G87 will likely run on a MediaTek Dimensity 6000-series chipset. We are still waiting for the exact processor model, though. The device will reportedly offer a configuration with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The physical layout remains practical. The power and volume buttons on the right edge and a USB Type-C port at the bottom.
Motorola could officially unveil the Moto G87 as early as next month.
