With full EVs not taking off like expected, automakers are figuring out what kind of electrified solutions will work best for consumers. In particular, automakers are trying to figure out the best way to offer cars that can drive electrically for much of the time, but with an engine for backup. Many are hopping on the extended-range electric vehicle bandwagon, attracted by the huge batteries and smooth power delivery.
