Prolific Apple leaker, Jon Prosser, who Apple is suing over leaking iOS 26 last year, has now agreed to sit down for a deposition in the case.
This is a case that has been going on since October of last year, when Apple first slapped a lawsuit on Prosser for leaking iOS 26. It wasn’t so much the fact that he leaked iOS 26, but the way he got the information to leak.
Apple is suing Prosser, as well as Michael Ramacciotti, who secretly accessed the iPhone of Apple employee Ethan Lipnik, according to Apple. This is how Prosser was able to get his hands on what the iOS 26 update would look like. Keep in mind, this was the big redesign that Apple launched with Liquid Glass. Lipnik was later fired due to this.
Court documents show that Ramacciotti cooperated with the lawsuit from the start, while Prosser missed several deadlines to respond to Apple’s complaint.
Now, in new court documents filed yesterday, Apple and Prosser have told the court that they have agreed to ask Judge James Donato to set aside the default entered against him.
Despite this lawsuit, Prosser continues with the Apple leaks
In an act of defiance, Prosser continues leaking Apple products; in fact, he leaked iOS 27 just days before WWDC. Hopefully, he did not pay someone to secretly access an Apple employee’s phone again.
It really shows that Prosser is not afraid of Apple and will keep leaking what he can. Though this case with Apple isn’t the only bad juju against Prosser. There have been multiple accusations of Prosser not paying people. For example, @concept_central had worked with Prosser to create renders of the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max last year. Which Prosser had apparently “forgotten” to pay him for. And this wasn’t the first time.
