The 2027 Grand Cherokee Gets a Bigger Lineup

Jeep is fortifying the Grand Cherokee lineup for 2027. Trailhawk is still the go-to for serious off-roaders, while Overland blends trail-ready gear with a splash of luxury inside and out.

Things get interesting under the hood, too. The Grand Cherokee 4xe plug-in hybrid has quietly left the building, and the Trailhawk now packs the 2.0-liter Hurricane turbo-four. That means 324 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque, plus all the off-road goodies: Quadra-Trac II, a two-speed transfer case, air suspension, and chunky all-terrain tires.

But the biggest addition for the 2027 lineup? Say hello to the Grand Cherokee Laredo Upland.

Upland Brings Some Trailhawk Attitude for Less

Think of the Upland as the Grand Cherokee for folks who want a taste of the tough stuff – looks and some hardware included – without paying Trailhawk or Overland prices.

Jeep says the Laredo Upland rolls on 18-inch wheels borrowed from the Trailhawk playbook, wrapped in chunky 265/60R18 all-terrain rubber. Up front, it gets a Trailhawk-style face with Vapor Gray tow hooks, a body-color roof, and dark gray accents for extra attitude.

Inside, the adventure vibe keeps going with Capri leatherette and suede seats in Global Black. It’s a much bolder look than your average Laredo, but the package stays refreshingly simple.

If the Upland name rings a bell, you’re not imagining things. Jeep has used it before on a limited Grand Cherokee, and it’s popped up on the Grand Wagoneer too, where it meant a mix of fancy features and extra off-road kit.

What Else Is New for 2027?

The Upland isn’t the only thing shaking up the lineup. Laredo and Laredo X now come standard with a 10.1-inch infotainment screen, up from the old 8.4-inch, plus fresh 18-inch wheels. Laredo Altitude gets the new wheels too.

Limited models score new 20-inch wheels, wireless charging, and rain-sensing wipers, while Limited Reserve adds auto-folding power mirrors. Jeep is also going wild with the paint options: High Gloss Black, Sting Gray, Ghost, Red Hot, Olive Green, Midnight Sky, Ember, and Red Rock all join the party.

For 2027, the Grand Cherokee Upland kicks off at $49,990, slotting in comfortably below the $54,995 Trailhawk and $57,895 Overland.
