Unlike Apple’s other iPhones, the iPhone Ultra might not have that many color options. Thanks to a new leak shared by Sonny Dickson on X, the iPhone Ultra camera module might have revealed the two potential color options that are coming to the phone.
iPhone Ultra camera module leak shows color options
The photos Dickson shared on X show lens protector accessories for the iPhone Ultra camera module. Based on these accessories, it seems that the iPhone Ultra might be offered in either silver or dark blue. The photo of the dark blue accessory makes it a bit hard to tell that it is dark blue, but maybe it could be similar to the MacBook Air’s Midnight finish, which, in some angles, looks more black than blue.
This seems slightly different from earlier reports. We’ve known that the iPhone Ultra could have limited color options. However, an earlier report suggested one might be white/silver, and the other could be grey/black. But then there was another report that claimed Apple could skip black for something else.
At this point it’s hard to say, but Dickson does have a pretty good track record for Apple-related leaks. So it stands to reason that he could be right. Plus, let’s not forget that Apple’s September event is just next month. With the launch this close, the leaks and rumors are starting to solidify.
Dual camera setup
In case you’re learning about this for the first time, the iPhone Ultra is rumored to feature a dual-camera setup. This is versus Apple’s iPhone Pro models that come with a triple camera setup. It is a bit disappointing that Apple is giving us only two cameras. Especially with the rumors that the iPhone Ultra could be priced as much as $2,500. Even Samsung’s earlier Galaxy Z Fold models came with triple cameras.
But to be fair, this is Apple’s first foldable. The costs are probably already astronomical, so adding a third camera could make it too expensive. Plus, Apple’s imaging algorithm and software have always been pretty good, so maybe they’ll make up for it in the software department.
