If you’ve wanted to see the sizes of Apple’s iPhone Duo and iPhone 18 Pro Max compared, well, the video we’ll talk about here does just that. Keep in mind it’s not new, as it was posted last month when the iPhone Duo was announced, but it’s now making the rounds.
The iPhone Duo vs iPhone 18 Pro Max video shows how different they are
You’ll be able to see it below, and it comes from The Tech Chap, a YouTuber who shared it on Instagram. He holds both phones and offers a nice side-by-side comparison, both with the iPhone Duo folded and unfolded.
You can see how massively different they are. The iPhone Duo is a lot shorter when folded, but it’s also wider. It’s a completely different design and size. Its display camera hole in the top-right corner is also notably different than the Dynamic Island (pill-shaped cutout) on the iPhone 18 Pro Max.
The bezels around both displays are very thin and uniform. Their camera bars on the back also look different, but Apple wanted to keep the cameras themselves looking identical. So the cameras that are placed on top of those horizontal bars, do basically look the same. Both phones also have flat backplates.
The iPhone Duo has a notably larger display when unfolded
When unfolded, the iPhone Duo gives you much more space to work with. The source even placed the iPhone 18 Pro Max inside the iPhone Duo’s display to give you a better idea as to how bigger that panel is. The iPhone 18 Pro Max’s display takes up about two thirds of the iPhone Duo’s panel.
It’s a shame he didn’t compare the thickness of both phones, but you can easily Google that. As for sheer numbers, the iPohone Duo is notably thinner when unfolded at 5.2mm, compared to 8.8mm on the iPhone 18 Pro Max.
When folded, the company’s first foldable is thicker at 11.3mm, compared to the iPhone 18 Pro Max’s 8.8mm. They’re similar in terms of weight. The iPhone Duo weighs 254 grams, while the iPhone 18 Pro Max is 5 grams lighter.
