According to a post on Weibo by Digital Chat Station, they claim that the iPhone Air 2 will see a battery upgrade. For context, the current iPhone Air features a 3,150mAh battery. However, the post claims Apple could make the jump and bump it up to 3,500mAh. That’s about a 350mAh difference.
Is that substantial enough to make it last a lot longer than the current model? We’re not sure about “a lot longer,” but a 350mAh bump could allow it to last a little bit longer. Also, according to the post, Apple might use the new 2nm A20 series chip for the phone. This means that with the bump in battery capacity and the efficiency of the A20, battery life might be better than we think.
Other details revealed by Digital Chat Station include a 6.55-inch 120Hz display, a dual camera setup that consists of a 48MP main and an ultrawide, and 3D face recognition, i.e., Face ID. They also make the claim that the iPhone Air 2 could be the only ultra-thin flagship in 2027. That lines up with earlier rumors that Samsung has given up on its ultra-thin ambitions.
