Some new Apple iPhone 18 information just surfaced on Weibo. The info has been shared by Digital Chat Station, one of the best-known and most accurate tipsters around.
The iPhone 18 is tipped to offer a bigger battery and better battery life
He actually highlighted two upgrades that the phone will deliver: better battery life and a 2nm Apple A20 processor. The battery life will not only be better due to optimizations and the new chip, but the phone will actually have a larger battery on the inside.
That is not exactly surprising, considering that the same happened with the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. The Apple A20 chip on the inside will not be identical to the A20 Pro processor in the ‘Pro’ models, however.
The tipster also noted that we should not expect a smaller Dynamic Island to be included on the iPhone 18. That is something the ‘Pro’ models shipped with, but the same will not be the case with the vanilla version.
It will cost more than the iPhone 17 did at launch
He also said that the price of the iPhone 18 will likely also go up compared to the iPhone 17. He doesn’t seem to be sure about that just yet; however, that’s only speculation on his part.
It is safe to assume it will happen, though. Why? Well, due to the situation in the market at the moment, with component costs. The iPhone 17 is already $100 more expensive than it was at launch.
That phone had a $799 launch price last year, and it now costs $899. So the iPhone 18 is expected to cost $899 at the very least, if not $999. We’re only guessing, though; it remains to be seen.
The iPhone 18 is tipped to launch with the iPhone Air 2 and iPhone 18e. All three of these phones are expected to arrive in 2027, and they could land around March. We’re still not sure when exactly.
