After 11 model years, Ford is officially putting the 2.7-liter twin-turbo Ecoboost V6 out to pasture in the F-150. What started as a notoriously rocky experiment in 2015 eventually evolved into the bulletproof, workhorse heart of America’s bestselling truck line. Buyers can still grab the twin-turbo engine in the 2026 XL, STX, and XLT trims, but once the current supply runs dry, the Ranger will be the last Ford standing with the powertrain.
