HONOR has been on a spree with smartphone launches this year. Speaking of which, the company last week unveiled the HONOR 600 and HONOR 600 Pro in Malaysia. The firm isn’t stopping there, as it has plans to launch the rumored HONOR Magic 9 series later in 2026. Now, a fresh claim originating from China suggests that the HONOR Magic 9 series could be a beast in terms of video recording capabilities.
HONOR Magic 9 series tipped to launch in October with ARRI-powered imaging tech
The claim comes from Chinese tipster Guan Tongxue GiM. In a Weibo post, they noted that HONOR could launch the Magic 9 series in China this October. In the same post, the tipster detailed that HONOR is likely going big on camera and design this time around.
Per the claim, the HONOR Magic 9 series could bring ARRI-powered imaging, giving photos and videos a serious upgrade. ARRI (Arnold & Richter Cine Technik), in case you don’t know, is a global leader in motion picture camera systems. To catch you up, HONOR confirmed its partnership with ARRI at MWC 2026 when it unveiled the Robot Phone.
The tipster further adds that HONOR’s upcoming smartphone series will likely be the first mainstream lineup to incorporate the ARRI imaging system. Apart from video and photo improvements, the HONOR Magic 9 series will feature a refreshed, more youthful design. However, the company will likely stick with the usual business-focused vibe of the series.
All models from the upcoming series likely to feature flat displays
The tipster also claims that the HONOR Magic 9 series will run on MagicOS 11. That’s not all; all models from the series will reportedly flaunt flat displays. Speaking of which, the design and color of one of the devices in the series, the HONOR Magic 9, have already leaked. Last month, a tipster on X claimed that the HONOR Magic 9 will feature a 200MP high-resolution main camera. Alongside that, the device will likely include a 64MP periscope telephoto and a 50MP ultrawide sensor. Moreover, it is also said to pack a large 8,000mAh battery.
