HONOR’s smartphone with an 11,000mAh battery is finally official. The company announced the HONOR X80 Pro Max in China, as expected. This is not a high-end smartphone, though we already knew that.
The phone has a flat display, with a centered display camera hole up top. The frame is flat all around, while there is a circular camera island on the back. That camera island does protrude a bit.
The HONOR X80 Pro Max has the biggest battery on any HONOR phone thus far
HONOR decided to use eco leather, aka silicone polymer, on the back of this phone, on some models. That’s good news for grippability, that’s for sure. Other models have glass on the back. The main selling point, though, is the phone’s 11,000mAh silicone-carbon battery.
This marks the largest battery capacity in any HONOR smartphone to date. HONOR also made sure you can recharge it in a timely fashion by including 90W wired charging here, along with 27W reverse charging.
Before it was released, the phone secured a Guinness World Record for the “Longest Live Stream Test of Mobile Phone Battery Life.” It clocked in 26 hours, 8 minutes, and 34 seconds of continuous streaming.
The HONOR X80 Pro Max also comes with SGS Gold Label 5-Star environmental drop resistance certification. It can withstand drops from heights of up to 3 meters. It is also IP68, IP69, and IP69K certified for water and dust resistance.
It comes in four color options and has an immensely bright display
The device comes in Vibrant Orange, Lightning Red, Moonlight White, and Mystic Black colors. This phone also comes with very thin, uniform bezels. Its bezels measure 1.3mm.

There is a 6.8-inch 1.5K AMOLED display here, with a 120Hz refresh rate. Its brightness can technically go up to 10,000 nits, while 3,840Hz high-frequency PWM dimming is also on board.
Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 chip fuels the phone, while you can choose between 8GB and 12GB of RAM. HONOR also offers 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB storage options here.
Android 16 comes pre-installed with HONOR’s MagicOS 10 skin. There are two SIM card slots here (2x nano SIM), and stereo speakers as well. The phone also includes an IR blaster and an in-display fingerprint scanner.
A 50-megapixel main camera (f/1.88 aperture, OIS) sits on the back, while an 8-megapixel selfie shooter (f/2.0 aperture) is also on board. The phone measures 162.2 x 77 x 8.08mm and weighs 203 grams.
It has a great price tag
The pricing for the HONOR X80 Pro Max starts at CNY1,999 ($295), and goes all the way up to CNY2,799 ($413) for the 12GB RAM model with 512GB of storage.
While these price tags may seem appealing, do note that the phone is available in China only at the moment. It would be great to see this device hit global markets, even if its price tag is a bit higher. There are always consumers who would be interested in the outstanding battery life the device has to offer. 11,000mAh is no joke, and the fact that the phone is not thick or heavy is just a plus.
