GTA 6 is going to get a PC release eventually, it’s just a matter of when and not if. The long anticipated sixth installment of the GTA franchise has been in the making for more than a decade and it’s finally launching on November 19, but only for PlayStation and Xbox consoles via PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. The highly anticipated PC release has yet to receive any sort of commitment in terms of launch timing, with Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick having stated officially that the game is starting with consoles because the majority of the GTA player base is on consoles.
Fans have speculated when Take-Two and Rockstar might choose to roll out a PC version of the game, with some of that speculation looking at the difference of time between the console and PC releases of GTA 5. That gap was more than a year and a half. It reportedly won’t be that long for the PC release of GTA 6.
The GTA 6 PC release is reportedly going to happen before the end of March 2027
With PC fans chomping at the bit to get their hands on GTA 6, it looks like the wait may not be long if reports are accurate. According to GamesBeat, Rockstar plans to release GTA in Q1 of 2027, which is sometime before the end of March 2027.
Although this isn’t an exact release day, it is a glimmer of hope for PC gamers that they’ll be able to play the next GTA installment well before they were able to play the last one following its console release.
There has also been questions about whether or not GTA 6 would be coming to the Nintendo Switch 2. There’s still no word on that, with Nintendo of America President Devon Pritchard saying that’s a conversation for Take-Two and Rockstar, and that she had nothing to announce on her end at this time.
