GTA 6 is one of the most highly anticipated games of all time, if the most highly anticipated game of all time, and the only things that fans are looking forward to more than the launch date are the pre-order date, the price, and the release of a third trailer. While the price and the third trailer are still under wraps, the pre-order date has leaked overnight and it’s a lot sooner than you think.
GTA 6 has been in development for years and years and it was originally scheduled to launch back in 2025. It was delayed until May, 2026 and then delayed again till November 19, which is where it’s currently sitting for release on PS5 and Xbox Series consoles. So far, there have been no more delays, and Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick says he believes a lot of people will be calling in sick on November 19. To play the game right away, you will of course want to pre-order.
The GTA 6 pre-order date is said to be May 18
While this hasn’t been confirmed by Rockstar or Take-Two yet, as reported by Notebookcheck, an affiliate email from Best Buy about the GTA 6 pre-order went out to a creator on X named Frogboyx1Gaming, which was corroborated by TGG, and the email states that there’s going to be a pre-order campaign for GTA 6 from May 18 to May 21. If the dates are accurate, and the email is accurate, then that means people will be able to pre-order a physical copy of GTA 6 for PS5 and Xbox Series next Monday.
With the pre-orders supposedly just around the corner, fans are expecting (or perhaps hoping) that Rockstar will share the third trailer for the game soon, and with that, a price for the game. The game’s price has been a hot topic, especially after Bank of America suggested that Rockstar and Take-Two should charge $80 for the game.
