The Google Pixel 11 Pro is set to become the company’s new compact flagship. It will be one of four flagship series phones that Google will announce this year. It will be superior to the Pixel 11, while its bigger sibling, the Pixel 11 Pro XL, is not expected to have major advantages over this model.
At this point in time, we do have some notable information about the Pixel 11 Pro and the entire series, but in this article, we’ll focus on the Pixel 11 Pro. This compact smartphone will have plenty to offer, it would seem. As usual, we’ll talk about its design, specifications, launch date, and more.
This article will be regularly updated with new information on the Google Pixel 11 Pro (this is a preview article) — both official teasers and credible leaks, rumors, and insider claims — as it becomes available in the run-up to the release of the upcoming Android smartphone.
When will the Google Pixel 11 Pro be released?
The Google Pixel 11 Pro will become official on August 12, along with its siblings. Google has already confirmed that date, as the launch event will take place in New York. Four smartphones in total are coming, and pre-orders will kick off on that date as well. We’re hoping that Google will launch all four phones at the same time, without delays for the ‘Fold’.
What models are coming?
Google will announce four Pixel 11 models: the Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL, and Pixel 11 Pro Fold. We’re focusing on the Pixel 11 Pro here, however, so let’s see the variants you’ll be able to get. The Pixel 11 Pro is said to be coming in 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB storage options. The 256GB storage model is rumored to ship with 12GB of RAM, while the other two models will get 16GB of RAM.
How much will the Google Pixel 11 Pro cost?
What about the price? Well, thanks to Google’s very own listing on Amazon, we have that information as well. The base model of the Pixel 11 Pro with 256GB of storage is said to cost $1,099. Its 512GB storage variant will cost $1,219, whiel the 1TB model will set you back $1,449.
What will the Google Pixel 11 Pro look like?
The Google Pixel 11 Pro design is not exactly a secret at this point. We were first to show you its design, via CAD renders. Then the Pixel 11’s seemingly official renders appeared, showing us the Pixel 11 Pro, essentially, as the two phones will look essentially the same. You’ll be able to see a difference in the camera sensors on the back if you really look for the sensor size in all that darkness of the camera visor, but the general design is basically the same.
With that being said, the Pixel 11 Pro will feature a flat display with a centered display camera hole up top. It will have thin, uniform bezels and a flat frame all around. The physical keys will with on the right side, with the power/lock button placed above the volume up and down keys. Those buttons will also be made out of metal.
The phone’s backplate will be flat as well, and Google will use glass on the back. The camera visor will sit in the top portion of the phone’s back side, and it will be horizontally aligned. Three cameras will sit in there, along with an LED flash next to them. That camera visor will protrude on the back quite a bit, but despite that, the phone will not wobble on a tabletop, as the visor will extend almost entirely to the phone’s sides. The Pixel 11 Pro will roughly measure 152.7 x 71.8 x 8.4mm. It’s also worth noting that Pixel Glow will be a part of the package.
What specs will the Google Pixel 11 Pro have?
We still don’t have a clear picture of the Pixel 11 Pro’s specs. While some information did surface, large chunks are still missing. So, let’s focus on what we think we know at this point, shall we? The Pixel 11 Pro will feature a 6.3-inch display, just like the Pixel 11. That will be an LTPO OLED display with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. The resolution will likely be the same as on the Pixel 11, 2856 x 1280 pixels. That display will be flat, by the way.
Google’s Tensor G6 processor will fuel the phone. That will allegedly be a 2nm chip, and it will be made by TSMC. The phone is coming in 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB storage options. The base model is said to utilize 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM, while the other two models will get 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM based on rumors. The storage will not be expandable, though.
When it comes to battery, a 4,850mAh unit was mentioned in a leak. We’re still not sure about wired charging, but the phone will almost certainly support 25W wireless charging (Qi2) and magnets will be included. That will not be a silicon-carbon battery, by the way, as Google is still not using that tech. A charger also won’t be included in the box, but that’s something we’re already used to when it comes to Pixel devices.
When it comes to cameras, not much surfaced. A 13-megapixel selfie camera was mentioned, and a 120Hz digital zoom for the rear cameras. Google is not expected to change much in the camera department from the previous version, though. So we could end up with the same 50MP + 48MP + 48MP setup, but we’re hoping to see some upgrades. These sensors are quite dated at this point. Android 17 will be pre-installed on the phone, while the device will be IP68 certified for water and dust resistance.
Should you wait to buy the Google Pixel 11 Pro?
The Google Pixel 11 Pro won’t be that much different than its predecessor. Yes, it will have a more powerful processor and the Pixel Glow as well. We’re still unsure what’s happening with the cameras, though, but the rest of the specs and even the design look very similar to what the Pixel 10 Pro offered. In all honesty, if you have the Pixel 10 Pro, there’s a good chance you’ll be able to stick with it for at least another year without being too tempted to upgrade.
