Pixel Glow is a feature for Google’s upcoming Pixel 11 series phones that have been leaked a few times already, and now Google has officially put out a teaser video for the new feature, leading up to its annual Made by Google event coming in August. Google confirms that this event will take place on August 12, and this is when it will show off how this feature works and what it actually is.
The Pixel Glow feature was thought to be a light surrounding the entire camera bump when it was initially leaked. However, Google’s new teaser video for Pixel Glow doesn’t show an actual glow around the camera bump like past teasers. Instead, it shows off a small RGB LED light on the back where the LED flash is on the Pixel 10 Pro.
Google’s Pixel Glow teaser video is for the Pixel 11 Pro
Today’s teaser video isn’t the first teaser Google has tossed out to the public about this particular feature. Earlier this month, Google released a very close-up image of the Pixel Glow RGB LED indicator light showing off its array of colors. The main different with the video is that you can actually see it moving a little to get an idea of how it looks in real life.
It’s worth noting that the video is for the Pixel 11 Pro. The video also shows off the triple camera sensor setup with an all glass design. With the Pixel 10 Pro, the glass portions was shorter, with the LED flash set inside of a metal part of the camera bump.
In the video Google also lists off a series of features and apps, including Gmail, Google Drive, Google Maps, Google Docs, Gemini, and others, and says that these are all things people use, then follows that up with a very vague hint about Pixel Glow being “the next obvious move.”
