If you’re running with a Pixel device whether that bee a Pixel 10 Pro or something older like a Pixel Pixel 6 Pro XL, then it’s time to prepare your device for the arrival of Android 17 QPR1 Beta 4. The latest update for Google’s beta version of Android 17 is rolling out to compatible devices as of June 10, 2026. In the update there are several fixes for bugs that were causing issues for users.
This includes an issue where users who were trying to wake the lock screen with the back tap gesture wouldn’t get the wake result. Not a device-breaking bug, but certainly inconvenient and probably annoying to deal with. Especially if you’re someone who actively used this feature a lot.
Android 17 QOR1 Beta 4 is mostly about bug fixes and not much else
It shouldn’t come as a surprise that this late into the release schedule, there aren’t going to be too many new flashy features popping up. This being the fourth QPR1 beta for Android 17 (the third one was released during Google I/O back in May) means Google is already quite far along with the overall version release. All of the major features have already been pushed out to users with prior updates.
That probably isn’t going to change much as it gets closer to the stable Android 17 launch, which is likely to happen in the very near future. That being said, the bug fix releases like this one, even as minor as they may seem, are still important. You want your features to work and the phone to function as intended. And that doesn’t really happen without these smaller fix releases.
With all of that said, there are a few other fixes that while still sort of minor, could end up fixing some of your most-loved features. So it’s worth checking out this release. Google confirms that this update is available for all Pixel devices from the Pixel 6 forward. The updates may be available for your device over the air, but they’re also available as system images if you know how to install those.
