The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 are now getting a new update, the one for October 2026. This follows the Android 17-based One UI 9 update, which arrived not long ago.
The Galaxy Z Fold 7 & Flip 7 are now getting the October 2026 Android security update
The October 2026 Android security update’s rollout kicked off in South Korea, but it will spread to other markets in the course of days, if it hasn’t already. This update delivers a total of 62 security fixes to the two devices.
Out of those 62 fixes, 45 are from Google, while Samsung added 17 of its own. 9 fixes that Google included are marked as ‘critical ’, while none of Samsung’s are. It is worth noting that 4 of Samsung’s fixes come from Samsung Semiconductor.
This update seems to be all about security. There are new features mentioned now, which is not surprising, as One UI 9 brought plenty of those, and it was released quite recently.
The update is rolling out in stages, starting in Korea
This update is rolling out in stages, by the way, as every other update Samsung pushes to the market. Even when it arrives in your region, it will roll out in stages, so you’ll need to be patient. Your phone may not get it straight away.
If you’re interested in the full changelog for this update, it’s now available on Samsung Mobile’s website. That won’t matter much to you, though, as patches are listed but not explained, as per usual.
Some devices from the company have already received the October 2026 security update, but a lot more are in line to get it. So you can expect that to happen in the coming days; we’ll see quite a few devices updated, both newer and older ones. As a reminder, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 were announced in Q3 last year.
