Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 users are reportedly hit with an error where the device does not show VO2 Max data for some track-running sessions. This is despite GPS, pace, and activity time being recorded properly. This can be a major annoyance, but the good news is Samsung is aware of this issue and is working on a fix that will be out with a future update.
Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 users report a strange error with VO2 Max tracking
Going into detail, a Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 user on Samsung Community reported that their watch failed to calculate or display VO2 Max data after a track-running session. The user even shared screenshots showing the issue. Android Authority translated the error displayed in Samsung Health to see what it is about. Strangely, the app apparently thinks the user did not run for at least 10 minutes at 4 km/h or faster.
However, the date in the screenshots suggests that the user met these requirements. The user also notes that their GPS signal was stable. Interestingly, the Watch Ultra 2 was reportedly able to measure VO2 Max data for outdoor running sessions. Screenshots shared by the user show that Samsung Health successfully recorded VO2 Max readings for these sessions.
A fix is on the way
From the looks of it, this seems like an annoying issue, especially for athletes who actively track such data. It doesn’t look like there’s a workaround for this at the moment. But if you’re facing this issue with your Galaxy Watch Ultra 2, there’s good news. A moderator on the Samsung forum has responded to the user’s post.Â
They note that Samsung developers have acknowledged the issue and plan to fix it in a future software update. However, there’s no timeline given for the fix. We will share an update when we hear more about it.
