It’s almost time. Samsung is preparing to launch a number of new devices at its Galaxy Unpacked event in London today, and you can watch it all happen live. Of course, after the event, you can check out all of our coverage on the Galaxy Z Flip 8, Galaxy Z Fold 8, and everything else Samsung announced.
Galaxy Unpacked will start at 2 PM BST, which is a tad earlier for those of us in the US than usual. On the east coast, that’s going to be 9 AM ET, while the west coast can start watching at 6 AM PT.
What to Expect from Galaxy Unpacked
At this point, we pretty much know what to expect from Samsung at this event. We’re expecting at least five new products. Which is the Galaxy Z Flip 8, the new wider Galaxy Z Fold 8, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, the Galaxy Watch 9, and the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2. Though there could be some surprises too.
It’s likely that Samsung will tease or at least show off their new smart glasses, which they and Google are referring to as “Intelligent Eyewear”. This is the pair of glasses they’re working on with Google, Warby Parker, and Gentle Monster, and were first shown at Google I/O back in May. Google did say back then that these were slated for the Fall, so we’re not expecting a full announcement just yet.
With the phones, there aren’t a lot of changes for the Galaxy Z Flip 8 and Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, the big thing here is going to be the new Galaxy Z Fold 8. And yeah, it really only exists because of the upcoming iPhone Ultra. But it will have a shorter and wider cover display, measuring in at around 5.5 inches. While the inner display will be less square because of that, and come in at about 7.6 inches. It’s smaller than the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, but because of the different aspect ratio, it should be a better option.
These devices should all be going up for pre-order today after Unpacked ends, and ship around the first week of August.
