Samsung continues to expand the availability of the August 2026 Android security patch to its devices. Recently, the Korean tech giant seeded this update to the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z TriFold foldable smartphones. Now, Samsung has released the August 2026 security update to the Galaxy Tab S9 series of premium tablets. While the update doesn’t bring any new features, it does fix more than 50 security vulnerabilities in the OS.
Galaxy Tab S9 series is finally getting the August 2026 security update
Samsung has rolled out the August 2026 security update for the Galaxy Tab S9, Tab S9+, and Tab S9 Ultra in South Korea. Notably, these devices have received the new security update even before the newer Galaxy Tab S10 and Galaxy Tab S11 models. The new firmware versions for the Galaxy Tab S9, Tab S9+, and Tab S9 Ultra are X71xXXS6EZH3, X81xXXS6EZH3, and X91xXXS6EZH3, respectively.
According to Samsung Community, the size of the update is around 342MB, and it’s only available to users in South Korea. However, we can expect the brand to release the new security update to more regions in the coming days.
The update comes with more than 50 security fixes
As we’ve mentioned above, the new update doesn’t bring any new features. Well, at least Samsung hasn’t mentioned any yet. However, all three Galaxy Tab S9 models are getting 56 security fixes. Google has provided 38 of these patches, while Samsung has pushed the remaining 18 fixes.
According to Google’s changelog, it has fixed 30 high-priority fixes and 8 critical-level patches in the August 2026 Android security update. As for Samsung, it has provided patches for 2 high-priority fixes, 14 moderate-level fixes, and 2 fixes with an undisclosed priority level.
After the global rollout of the update begins for the Galaxy Tab S9 series, users of the newer Galaxy Tab S10 and S11 models can expect to receive the new upgrade. We’ll keep an eye out for any new information, so watch this space for any new updates.
