The Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra design has just surfaced… or has it? Ice Universe has shared what seem to be CAD designs of two Galaxy S27 series smartphones.
The Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra design seemingly appeared alongside the Galaxy S27 design
You can see those two designs in the gallery below. The first one is allegedly representing the Galaxy S27 Ultra, while the second, we’re guessing, represents the Galaxy S27 and Galaxy S27+ design.
In other words, the Galaxy S27 and Galaxy S27+ will likely stay pretty much the same in terms of design, other than the fact that they’ll get magnets. You can see three vertically-aligned cameras in the top-left corner, on top of a camera island… just like the Galaxy S26 (Plus) offers.
The Galaxy S27 Ultra is a different story, though. As you can see, a camera plateau is included at the top, a horizontal one. This is reminiscent of what Apple did with the latest ‘Pro’ iPhones.
Here’s which camera is supposed to fit where
You can see two vertically-aligned cameras on the left side of the camera plateau, and then a pill-shaped cutout where we’re guessing the third camera will sit, along with an LED flash. That’s also what Ice Universe guessed, as you can see below.
Many of you already know that the Galaxy S27 Ultra is tipped to arrive with three rear cameras, not four. A 5x periscope telephoto camera will be included to replace the 3x telephoto and 5x periscope telephoto on the previous model.
This does seem very similar to the cancelled Galaxy S26 Edge design
If this design seems familiar, that’s because we shared something similar last year. The cancelled Galaxy S26 Edge design looks very similar to the Galaxy S27 Ultra design that surfaced. You can see it below.
One tipster thinks this is not the Galaxy S27 Ultra
Now, while Ice Universe believes the Galaxy S27 Ultra design did surface, another tipster, Schrodinger aka @phonefuturist, disagrees. He shared a “technical analysis”, as he believes that we may not be looking at the Galaxy S27 Ultra.
He believes that Samsung would need some very clever packaging to fit a flagship-grade 5x ALoP sensor into the shown layout without compromising optical performance. He believes that the CAD belongs to the Edge (which is not expected to arrive), not the Ultra model.
