New, interesting Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra information just surfaced, courtesy of Ice Universe. The tipster shared the phone’s bezel thickness, along with its camera bump thickness.
The Galaxy S27 Ultra will arrive with minor bezel thickness and camera bump changes
Based on this information, the bezels will be 1.28mm thick, while the camera bump will measure 4.69mm. That basically means that the bezels will be only slightly thinner than on the Galaxy S26 Ultra, too little of a difference to notice.
The Galaxy S26 Ultra also has uniform bezels, and they’re 1.32mm thick (according to the same source). So that’s a difference of only 0.04, a very tiny fraction of a millimeter. That’s too little to notice, in all honesty.
The camera thickness will also get a slight bump, it would seem. The Galaxy S26 Ultra’s camera bump is around 4.5mm. So a 4.69mm camera bump won’t be much of a difference at all, and you’ll hardly notice it.
The Galaxy S27 Ultra will get the new camera plateau, though
There will be a bit of a difference in terms of the design of the camera area, though. The Galaxy S27 Ultra will have a large, horizontal camera plateau on the back, compared to a pill shaped and vertical camera island on the Galaxy S26 Ultra.
Other than the camera area difference between the two phones, we won’t see many changes. Samsung is not looking to reinvent anything here; the Galaxy S27 Ultra won’t be a big design overhaul or anything like that.
It’s expected to arrive in Q1 2027, along with the Galaxy S27, Galaxy S27+, and Galaxy S27 Pro. Only the ‘Pro’ and ‘Ultra’ models will have that new camera plateau on the back. The Galaxy S27 and Galaxy S27+ will look basically the same as the previous two models.
