Samsung could be bringing back its ‘Galaxy Edge’ series next year. According to a report by kro, the Galaxy S27 Edge is coming, and he also shared some specs of the device as well.
The Galaxy S27 Edge could be even thinner than the Galaxy S25 Edge
The tipster claims that the phone will feature a 5.8-inch display. In addition to that, its battery will have a capacity of “around 4,300mAh”. The phone will also be immensely thin, “in the low 4mm range,” the tipster claims
As a reminder, Samsung announced only one Galaxy Edge phone thus far. That was the Galaxy S25 Edge, which arrived in May 2025, so over a year ago. The Galaxy S26 Edge was scrapped, but if there’s any truth to this report, the Galaxy S27 Edge could be on the way.
The Galaxy S25 Edge was 5.8mm thick, and if kro is right, the Galaxy S27 Edge will be even thinner than that. Considering a thickness of 4mm+, there’s a good chance Samsung will include silicon-carbon tech in the mix.
Samsung already included some of that tech in the Galaxy Z Fold 8 series, but not much. Those batteries are still considered Li-Ion, basically. That combo could change in the Galaxy S27 Edge if Samsung aims to reach the said thickness.
The Galaxy S25 Edge sales were not good, which is the main reason its successor was ditched. Samsung seemingly believes that there is still a market for ultra-thin phones, though.
The phone could arrive mid-2027
We’re not sure when exactly will the Galaxy S27 Edge arrive, but if Samsung aims to follow its release cycle, it will be coming in mid-2027. The chances of this phone launching alongside the four Galaxy S27 series phones in Q1 are not high.
The rest of the phone’s specs are still a mystery. However, the Galaxy S25 Edge used Qualcomm’s flagship chip (at the time). By that logic, the Galaxy S27 Edge could end up utilizing the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 series chip, or the Exynos 2700.
