Samsung seems to be on a roll today. It released the first One UI 9 beta update for the Galaxy S25 series. Now, the South Korean tech giant is pushing yet another One UI 9 beta update for the Galaxy S26 Ultra. Just the Ultra, not the regular Galaxy S26 and S26+. Here’s what we know.
Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra gets an exclusive One UI 9 beta update
The latest update brings the firmware version S948NKSU4ZZHM and reportedly has a download size of 512MB. It’s rolling out now in the brand’s home country, South Korea. This apparently brings stability-related improvements to the Galaxy S26 Ultra, so you should see performance and general user-experience refinements. The official changelog just mentions “Stability-related code for device operation has been applied.” So you may not notice big changes if you’re already running a beta version.
It may not be considered the One UI 9.0 Beta 8 update since this is a hotfix update. It’s also unclear whether Samsung will release it in other countries where the beta program is available. While that’s that, it’s unclear when Samsung will finally push the stable One UI 9 update to the Galaxy S26 series at the moment. But as things stand, we’re probably getting there soon.
Polishing the experience
One UI 9 is based on Android 17 and brings a handful of new features to the table. That includes Galaxy AI as well. Samsung has moved Parental Controls to a separate section in the Settings app. Previously, these options were present within the Digital Wellbeing menu.
The volume and brightness sliders are getting some cosmetic changes for easier touch control. The media player can be resized, giving more control over how the UI looks. Now Brief will also see some improvements, where you can add your own cards and personal interests to the daily briefing.
