The Samsung Galaxy S26 series is now getting the second update in October 2026. The devices first received Android 17-based One UI 9 at the end of last month, and soon after than the October 2026 Android security update arrived.
The second October 2026 update is now reaching the Galaxy S26 series
Well, now the second October 2026 update has dropped for the devices. This new update is reaching the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, and Galaxy S26 Ultra. We don’t really know what it brings, though.
Samsung did not reveal what this update is all about. It also seems to retain the same security patch that the original October update delivered. So this could be a hotfix of some kind; at least it looks like it.
The initial October 2026 update delivered 62 security fixes. 45 of those fixes come from Google, while Samsung added the remaining 17. Out of all those fixes, 9 are marked as ‘critical’ and come from Google.
The rollout started in the company’s homeland
In any case, this second October 2026 update is now rolling out in South Korea, Samsung’s homeland. The update weighs 580.37MB, and comes with firmware version S94xNKSU5BZJB. The update package could weigh a bit more or less elsewhere, of course, but not by much.
Your phone will let you know once the update is available, but you can always check manually. You can check by going to Settings -> Software update -> Check for updates.
Samsung could end up releasing more information about this update, but that’s unlikely. When hotfix updates like this one arrive, we usually don’t get more information about what they’re about.
It did happen in the past. There is usually only one update per month for Samsung’s devices, but from time to time we get more than one. It’s usually a hotfix update, or as was the case within the last month, an Android 17-based update. So in the span of a month, three updates dropped for the Galaxy S26 series.
