Samsung recently started rolling out the May 2026 Android security update for the Galaxy devices. Notably, the Galaxy A54 has received the May 2026 security update even before the latest Galaxy S or Galaxy Z series devices. It’s a lightweight software update that brings fixes for a handful of security vulnerabilities.
The Galaxy A54’s May 2026 security update is available in select countries
According to user reports, the Samsung Galaxy A54 units are getting the May 2026 security update in major Asian and Middle Eastern countries. Markets such as India and Saudi Arabia are the first to receive the new security firmware. The size of the update is around 286.79MB, and it carries the build number A546EXXSJEZE5.
As expected, Samsung is rolling out the May 2026 Android security patch to the Galaxy A54 over the air. However, it is a gradual rollout, so not every user will receive it right away. You can also check it manually by going to your phone’s Settings > Software update > Download and Install.
The new firmware build fixes multiple security vulnerabilities
As per the official changelog, the Galaxy A54’s May 2026 security update fixes as many as 36 vulnerabilities found in the previous version of the operating system. Out of the 36 issues, two are classified as Critical, 28 as High, and six as Moderate levels. The full changelog is on the company’s website.
It’s worth mentioning that Samsung has also rolled out the same update to the users of the Galaxy A55 budget smartphone. The changelog and size of the upgrade for the A55 are similar to the A54’s changelog.
Samsung will expand the availability of the new firmware build to more smartphones in the coming days. We will keep you informed as soon as any other Galaxy phone receives it, so watch this space for regular updates.
