Let’s be clear here, and not for legal purposes: No engine is perfect, and all engines can fail catastrophically before reasonably expected. Ford’s 6.2-liter V8, also known as the Boss engine, was in production from 2010 until 2022 and mostly used in its Super Duty trucks. And it is well regarded for its durability and reliability, largely because it doesn’t have many common faults, and can take a lot of physical abuse.
