To add to the Galaxy S27 series this week, feast your eyes on the Galaxy S27 Pro.
This is essentially the Galaxy S27 Ultra but in a smaller size. Unlike Google and Apple, Samsung is using a different naming scheme instead of Pro and Pro XL or Pro and Pro Max. It also looks like there is one major difference between the Galaxy S27 Ultra and the Galaxy S27 Pro, aside from screen size. That is the S Pen. According to these CADs, there’s no slot for the S Pen.
The design here is quite similar to the Galaxy S27 Ultra, though we should note that this beautiful purple color is not confirmed for the Galaxy S27 Pro. As usual, these are colors chosen to really make the device stand out in these CAD renders. Similar to the Galaxy S27 Ultra, this also has a camera bar across the back with a triple-camera setup. These are likely to be the same cameras as on the Galaxy S27 Ultra, though we don’t know for sure yet.
The dimensions of the Galaxy S27 Pro are roughly 154.06 x 73.77 x 7.95mm. That’s about the same thickness as the Galaxy S27 Ultra, but obviously a bit shorter and narrower, since this has about a 6.6-inch display.
This new design is going to be great for Samsung, despite many “fans” hating it online right now. This is going to solve many of the issues Samsung has had. The biggest one is the camera wobble on a flat surface. But this will also allow Samsung to properly support Magnetic Charging and provide more space for larger cameras and a larger vapor chamber in the future.
Samsung Galaxy S27 Pro vs Galaxy S27 Ultra
So here’s how the Galaxy S27 Pro stacks up to the Galaxy S27 Ultra. It’s a bit smaller, around 0.3 inches smaller on the display side. The dimensions are about 9mm shorter and 5mm narrower. This should make the Galaxy S27 Pro a lot easier to handle with one hand.
Samsung Galaxy S27 Pro Specs
As we already know, the Galaxy S27 Pro is essentially a smaller ‘Ultra’ from Samsung this year, without an S Pen. So, the specs will be fairly similar to the Galaxy S27 Ultra. As mentioned earlier, it will sport a 6.6-inch display, which is smaller than the Ultra’s, but not by much.
Powering the Galaxy S27 Pro should be the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Extreme – yes, that new 5GHz processor from Qualcomm. Though there is a possibility that Samsung could opt to use the Exynos 2700 in some markets, as that processor has been performing well in their testing.
We’re expecting this to be paired with 12GB of RAM, and possibly a 16GB option on higher storage tiers. It should also offer 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB storage options.
Cameras are also slated to be very similar to the Galaxy S27 Ultra, with the same 200-megapixel main camera and a 50-megapixel ultrawide, but it’ll use a 12-megapixel 3x telephoto instead of the 5x telephoto that the Ultra has.
Finally, let’s talk about the battery size: the Galaxy S27 Pro is expected to sport a 5,200mAh battery. This is larger than the Galaxy S26 Ultra, and it’s likely due to Samsung finally embracing silicon-carbon. The Galaxy Z Fold 8, Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, and Galaxy Z Flip 8 all used silicon-carbon this year, and we expect Samsung to bring it to more phones in 2027.
When will the Galaxy S27 Pro be released?
It’s a little tricky to predict when Samsung will announce the Galaxy S27 Pro, given that the Galaxy S series has recently changed its launch schedule. For the Galaxy S26 series, it was in late February, while in previous years it was in January, typically a week or two after CES.
If I had to guess, I’d say that the Galaxy S27 series would be announced in February just before Mobile World Congress. Likely the week of February 22, 2027.
How much will the Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra cost?
The million-dollar question is: how much will Samsung’s Galaxy S27 Pro cost? Well, since this is a brand-new model for Samsung, it’s really tough to say right now. We expect the Galaxy S27 models to increasesice increase across the board, with the Galaxy S27 Ultra priced at either $1,399 or possibly $1,499. We could see the Galaxy S27 Pro slotting in at the current Galaxy S26 Ultra pricing of $1,299, however.
Keep in mind that the Galaxy S26 Plus is currently priced at $1,099, so if that price increases, the Galaxy S26 Pro can’t go below $1,199. So it’s very likely to slot in at that $1,299 price point.
