Diablo and StarCraft. Two massive game franchises that shaped the gaming industry in more ways than one. Both also happen to be Blizzard franchises, so you’d think a collaboration between Diablo Immortal and StarCraft would be a match made in hell that would have happened a lot sooner than now. While that isn’t the case, the collaboration between these two games is finally happening. Blizzard held a WoW crossover all the way back in 2024, so StarCraft was the next natural choice.
There’s a lot to enjoy with this new content, including some in-game cosmetics for your characters, and some new playable events to participate in. It also follows the recently launched Doom: The Dark Ages collaboration that is still ongoing. Worth noting is that the StarCraft collaboration content isn’t yet live.
The Diablo Immortal x StarCraft event goes from May 13 to June 10.
While the collaboration event isn’t quite here yet you won’t have to wait long to play through everything being added. The event officially starts on May 13 (which is when the Doom event ends) and will continue through until June 10. So you get almost a month to get through everything. That should be plenty of time for most players, and more than enough for some who will likely have it completed within the first week. At least for any content that isn’t time-gated.
As for what’s all being added, there’s the Dark Ascension event which will allow players to face off against Tal’Darim. During this vent players can group up with up to three others and face tougher and tougher challenges for better rewards throughout a 4-week reward cycle.
There will also be new “infested rifts” which add Zerg enemies to the elder rifts in the game. Completing these rifts will not only be a cool nod to StarCraft fans, but you can also acquire some special legendary items with unique affixes. So there’s a pretty big incentive to do them. Additionally, there will be a special conqueror variant which includes StarCraft-themed shrines and rewards. Naturally, there is a StarCraft-themed skin you can buy in the Phantom Market based on Kerrigan, The Queen of Blades. You can also collectwo StarCraft-themed minions based on the Protoss and the Zergling, so don’t miss out on those.
Lastly, there’s a new legendary gem called Baneboil. This gem will summon Banelings that swarm nearby enemies and explode on contact when you deal damage. You can read more about the event in Blizzard’s official blog post. While Diablo Immortal is primarily a mobile game, Blizzard does offer a PC version of it through Battle.net, and as a PC game it’s actually quite well-optimized.
