Brookfield Properties said Monday that Cleary Gottlieb has recommitted to One Liberty for another 20 years, leasing 10 floors totaling 475,000 square feet. The law firm is the largest tenant at One Liberty; the deal marks the firm’s second long-term lease extension at the 53-story, 2.3-million-square-foot office tower, which recently completed redevelopment.
“We are thrilled that Cleary Gottlieb will call One Liberty ‘home’ for another 20 years,” said Mikael Nahmias, SVP at Brookfield Properties. “Our redevelopment program focused on making the right investments to ensure that the property remains a top choice for tenants in Lower Manhattan. Cleary Gottlieb’s renewed commitment to One Liberty secures a best-in-class workplace as the firm plans for its next generation. We look forward to continuing our partnership.”
Cleary Gottlieb was represented by Moshe Sukenik and Brian Cohen of Newmark, and by Mark Weiss and Josh Kuriloff of Cushman & Wakefield. Brookfield Properties was represented in-house by Mikael Nahmias and Dan Roberts.
