Once again, the full-size pickup truck wars are getting hotter. The latest shot across the bow comes from General Motors, which just announced the power and capability ratings for the new 2027 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500. The biggest headline is the new 6.6-liter V8, a member of the new Generation VI small-block engine family, which now makes the most horsepower of any naturally aspirated half-ton truck – as well as every iteration of the F-150’s twin-turbocharged V6.
