- A Jeep driver captured the moment when a Chevy brake-checked him.
- While the Jeep manages to slow down safely, the Suburban loses control.
- The entire scene is a reminder that road rage simply never pays off.
Anyone who has ever piloted a car on public roads knows that the act itself can bring on a lot of emotions. Sometimes those feelings are of joy or excitement. Some folks experience fear or worry. Still others seemingly can’t keep their anger, frustration, or childishness out of the equation. A video making the rounds online shows how quickly things can go from simply dumb to involving insurance.
The clip appears to come from a head-mounted camera fixed to the driver of a modern Jeep. It’s unclear if we’re looking at a Wrangler or Gladiator, but either is possible. As the footage begins, we see a Chevrolet Suburban overtake the Jeep on the left shoulder. Then, the Suburban driver appears to stomp on the brake like it owed them money.

The Jeep, a clearly more modern vehicle than the Suburban seen here, seemingly has no issue slowing down. The Chevrolet appears to be an eighth-generation example from between 1992 and 2000. Suffice it to say, braking technology wasn’t what it is now back then. The Suburban locks up its brakes almost immediately. The driver attempts to correct the slide but instead just kicks off a fishtail.
The entire SUV is moving at such a pace that as it spins clockwise, the front passenger side tire gets airborne. The driver manages to somewhat settle things down as the car turns 180 degrees, but it appears as though a semi can’t stop in time and bumps the SUV. Frankly, all of that could’ve been much, much worse given the forces at play here.
Still, managing to evade death in this instance wasn’t enough to get the Chevrolet driver to rethink their choices.
Heads up: the following video contains NSFW language.

The Jeep driver pulls over and claims the Chevrolet driver got out of the Suburban and tried to chase him down. A shadow in the footage seems to back that up. All of this looks like sheer stupidity and ego at play in both men. Of course, we don’t know what happened before the clip began that set off the Suburban driver in the first place. Perhaps the Jeep driver isn’t as innocent as the video makes him out to be.
That all said, plenty of people, including innocent motorists, could’ve lost their lives here if not been irrevocably affected by the childish behavior on display here. Be safe out there, folks. Sometimes there’s a fool behind the wheel of the car right next to you.
