It seems like both top-end Samsung Galaxy S27 series phones will utilize Qualcomm’s most powerful chip. In other words, the Galaxy S27 Pro and Galaxy S27 Ultra are tipped to use the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro.
Both the Galaxy S27 Pro and Ultra are said to use Qualcomm’s best chip
The information comes from kro, a tipster. He said that Samsung successfully negotiated the chip pricing with Qualcomm. In a separate post, he said that the Galaxy S27 Pro will also be equipped with a “Snapdragon Pro” chip, just like the Galaxy S27 Ultra. We all know that he’s talking about the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro, of course.
As many of you know by now, Qualcomm is aiming to launch two flagship chips this time around. The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 and Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro will become available.
It’s also highly likely that the variant used by Samsung will have the ‘for Galaxy’ moniker, on top of the chipset name, as was the case in the past. We’re only guessing, though.
The entire Galaxy S27 series will land in Q1 2027
The Samsung Galaxy S27 Pro and Galaxy S27 Ultra are coming in Q1 next year, along with the Galaxy S27 and Galaxy S27+. The top-end phones will also feature a new camera design on the back, unlike the regular and ‘Plus’ models.
That new camera design will prevent the wobble that is immensely annoying, and it will also serve to differentiate the most powerful phones that the company has to offer from their siblings.
The Galaxy S27 and Galaxy S27+ are also expected to arrive in Snapdragon versions, but the Exynos 2700 models are also expected. Samsung will likely continue with its dual-chip strategy for some devices.
The base and ‘Plus’ models will basically look like their predecessors. Samsung will not change the design language at all, based on what we’ve seen.
