The current, G80-generation BMW M3 is headed out to pasture soon, but don’t pour one out for it just yet. First, there’s a new sports sedan on the way, and secondly, the 2027 M3 getting one hell of a going away present with the new CS Handschalter trim. Like the similarly named Z4 special edition, the hardcore sedan will get a six-speed manual transmission for the first time, although despite being cheaper than the regular CS, you do have to give up something in return for the pleasure of rowing your own gears: It only makes 473 horsepower, down 70 on its auto-shifted predecessor.
