Retail center operator Regency Centers Corp. is forwarding a site plan that would enable Bass Pro Shops to put a store at the intersection of Jack Nicklaus Drive and U.S. 1, part of the Oakbrook Square Shopping Center.
The new two-story, 80,430-square-foot location would be the retailer’s first location in Palm Beach County and third in South Florida, after Miami and Dania Beach.
The shopping center, also known as The Shoppes of Oakbrook, spans more than 230,000 square feet and dates back to the early 2000s. It’s anchored by a Publix and CVS.
Bass Pro Shops operates more than 100 stores selling outdoor gear across the United States, according to company figures.
As for Regency Centers, the real estate investment trust has looked to expand its South Florida portfolio in recent years, including a $20 million redevelopment project in Aventura.
