If you’ve been experimenting with ChatGPT Work and Codex and exploring the possibilities they unlock, you might need to slow down a bit. While OpenAI had removed the five-hour limits on ChatGPT Work and Codex following the release of GPT-5.6, the company is now bringing those limits back.
In a post on X, Thibault Sottiaux, OpenAI’s head of Codex and ChatGPT, announced that users with a ChatGPT Plus subscription will once again have five-hour limits across ChatGPT Work and Codex starting August 25.
